As we mentioned in our post on Sunday, many of our readers send in tips by tweeting us links to stories they see that mention interesting news about Craig Ferguson or the Late Late Show. As proof of that, all of today’s stories were brought to our attention by our readers. Take a look:
Late Night Show Stats
New York Magazine‘s Vulture (culture) section decided to take a statistical look at late night television shows and came up with a bunch of interesting facts and built them into a slide show. Craig is mentioned in several of the slides. Thanks to the RSA’s @Colleen_Byrne for the link. By the way, Colleen mentioned that proceeds from this month’s sales at her online storefeaturing Robot Skeleton Army gear, will go to the Red Cross for tornado relief.
Scottish Enlightenment
The popular website omg-facts.com includes a fact inspired by one of Craig’s recent monologues. He mentioned Scotland’s role in the Enlightenment. When the audience laughed, he told them to look it up and omg-facts.com did. Thanks to the RSA’s @Emi_shell for spotting it!
Daily Humor
Craig’s talented sister, writer/producer/actress Lynn Ferguson has a new project which provides quick, funny vignettes about the day in history. For example, March 5th. Lynn’s husband Mark Tweddle explains in his blog how the project began. Thanks to the RSA’s @chromajoy for the tip!
Impressionist Passes Away
Comic impressionist Steve Bridges has died. Best known for his impression of former president George W. Bush and the elaborate makeup he used to transform into character, Bridges appeared on the Tonight Show many other programs, as well as standing side by side with the real President Bush at the White House Correspondents Dinner in 2006. He was just 48 years old, as CBS News and many other outlets reported. Thanks to the RSA’s @normaapril for letting us know. CORRECTION: In an earlier version of this post, we mistakenly included a clip of actor/impressionist James Adomian during one of his many appearances on the Late Late Show, portraying George W. Bush. Mr. Adomian is alive and well and the clip was not of impressionist Steve Bridges, who passed away earlier this week. We have replaced the clip with one of Mr. Bridges performing on the Tonight Show. We apologize to Mr. Adomian and regret the error. We strive for accuracy at all times and appreciate every comment, suggestion and correction request from our readers.
